Nuclear medicine has always been a bit of an enigma in the public realm. Even in the hospitals and clinics, it is not often known amongst all healthcare providers. However, just like any other radiologic modality (x-ray, ct, mri, ultrasound), nuclear medicine is fundamental to the diagnostic imaging family. It is a vital component that allows for a healthcare facility to be deemed whole. This is my humble attempt at explaining nuclear medicine.
